2. Can you share your step-by-step routine for achieving a natural look?
My must-have get-ready-and-go quick routine is:
- Cleanse with MACRENE actives High Performance Cleanser with lukewarm water, pat dry, while skin still damp
- Apply the MACRENE actives High Performance Face Cream, hazelnut size, to four quadrants of skin and smooth in until absorbed
- Apply a pea size of the MACRENE actives High Performance Tinted Moisturizer to face and then dab the Concealer around the eyes and to the upper lip area, feather into the tissue seamlessly
- Finish with the MACRENE actives High Performance Lip Filler to the upper and lower nude lip for a pink, plush finish.

Saving the health of people and the earth are what motivated me to go into scientific research over 40 years ago when I was a pre-teen. Having read Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring, I joined a university lab and worked on finding plant based alternatives to toxic pesticides. Fast forward upon becoming a dermatologist, I used my skills to make plant extracts and to eliminate all toxins from skin care, culminating in me being honored as the Founder of the Clean Beauty movement. But, clean does not stop at formulation; in my Clean Beauty manuscript, I affirm that we must include clean packaging and manufacturing practices in order to save the earth and its inhabitants. To this end, I have pioneered glass & wood lids, working towards the elimination of plastics for the industry, alongside uncoated paperboard with biodegradable vegetable inks and plant based wafer seals.
